Savita Arora and Pooja Arora
03, December 2025With the grace of Waheguru Ji, on 3-12-2025, the Manukhta Di Sewa Parivar received the opportunity to serve Mother Savita Arora and her daughter Pooja Arora near Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. These mother and daughter had been living a hell-like life on the streets for the past one and a half to two years, and some people even said they had seen the mother there for an even longer period.
The reason behind their suffering was heartbreaking. Their home had been destroyed by alcohol and gambling.
Mother Savita belonged to a well-off and respectable family. Her father was a government employee, and she was married into a wealthy and strong household. But her husband, being addicted to alcohol and gambling, sold her jewellery as well. After his death, the in-laws threw her out of the house.
With nowhere to go, she shifted to her parental home with her daughter and started working a private job to take care of both herself and her child. Through hard work and determination, she even managed to build her own small house and educated her daughter Pooja up to the 12th grade.
But a few months ago, Pooja developed a lump in her chest, which filled with pus. Due to her simple and quiet nature, she suffered silently and remained admitted in Rajindra Hospital for four months.
During that time, as the house remained shut and unattended, even the roof collapsed. With no shelter left, both mother and daughter were forced to start living at a bus stand on the roadside, surviving by requesting langar from the Gurdwara Sahib.
In such a cruel society, this helpless mother had no option but to stay on the streets with her young daughter. The mother’s legs were severely swollen as well.
After bringing them to Supneyaan Da Ghar, treatment for both has now been started.
We humbly request everyone to do Ardaas so that both of them recover completely and can live a life filled with happiness again.
