By the grace of Waheguru Ji, on 20-11-2025, the Manukhta Di Sewa family received an opportunity to serve yet another suffering soul. Outside Nishkam Vidya Mandir in Model Town, C-Block, Ludhiana, we found Babp Sukhjeet Singh Ji lying in extremely poor condition on the roadside. The lines of pain on his face, the exhaustion across his body, and the burden of defeat in his mind — all reflected the harshest reality of his life. The most heartbreaking sight was a serious wound on his leg infested with maggots. Due to dirt, neglect, and lack of medical care, the wound was slowly decaying.
Local residents and shopkeepers told us that for the past six months they had seen Baba Ji wandering and suffering on the streets in the same condition. His addiction to alcohol not only destroyed him physically, but also shattered his mind and uprooted his family life. In earlier days, Baba Sukhjeet Singh worked as a machinist and earned around ₹80,000 per month. But gradually, addiction consumed his income, his health, and his dignity. A man who once sustained his family through the skill of his hands was now forced to beg for ₹5 or ₹10 from people just to survive.
When we spoke to Baba Ji, he said his ancestral home was in Aasi Kalan, Ludhiana. After contacting his family, we learned that his son is also trapped in addiction, and his two daughters are married. A father who had once fulfilled his duty by raising and marrying off his daughters was now lying alone and abandoned on the streets. Thousands of people passed by him every day, yet no heart gathered the courage to stop.
With Waheguru’s blessing, the Manukhta Di Sewa family brought Baba Ji to the “Supnean Da Ghar” shelter, where he is being given proper cleanliness, food, care, and dignity. This is not merely about healing wounds — it is an attempt to restore a broken spirit. We humbly pray that by staying in Supnean Da Ghar, Baba Ji will regain health and be freed from the prison of addiction. We also request — if anyone who knows Baba Ji or belongs to his family sees this, please come to meet him. Sometimes a single touch of love can achieve what even medicines cannot.
